15 November 2006 - Indiana Society DAR members Dixie Oberlin and Allison Hart Key are awarded the SAR Medal of Appreciation in recognition of their support for the SAR. Dixie and Allison are "regulars" at SAR meetings and events. They often march with the Color Guard (dressed in colonial garb) or support them behind the scenes. Many of the pictures on www.inssar.org are taken by Allison or Dixie. |

Cook chapter Vice-President and active Color Guard member Stuart Hart thanks a veteran while the Indianapolis Symphony plays "Salute to the Armed Forces." |

3 April 2006 - The Clarence A. Cook Chapter Musket Squad performs a salute at the conclusion of a flag retirement at Acton United Methodist Church where Boy Scout Troop 104 ceremoniously burned several unserviceable U.S. Flags. Compatriots spent several minutes addressing about 30 youth and parents about flag history and the life of a Colonial soldier. Squad members (two Eagle Scouts, two Life Scouts, two members of the Order of the Arrow and a former Scoutmaster) encouraged the youth with the importance of taking Scouting seriously. |
