New officers were elected for 2010: President - Mike Oberlin, VP - Wade Harshman, Secretary - Marcus Turner, Treasurer - Bruce Oakley, Chaplain - Graham Morey, Registrar/Genealogist - Ron Darrah. The position of Historian is not currently filled. |

25 July 2009 The Clarence A. Cook Chapter hosted the Summer meeting of the Indiana Society SAR, at the MacArthur Room of the Indiana War Memorial. Brigadier General J. Stewart Goodwin, Executive Director of the Indiana War Memorials Commission, was the guest speaker. At left: Indiana Society President Steven Oberlin inducts the Cook Chapter's newest member, compatriot Jack Fife. |

2-4 July 2009 The Indiana Society Color Guard performed at Symphony on the Prairie's annual Independence Day celebrations. Several Cook members attended and either participated with the Color Guard, or cheered them on. See the Indiana Society's Color Guard page for pictures. |

18 February 2009 Quarterly Business Meeting Brigadier General J. Stewart Goodwin, Assistant Adjutant General, Indiana Air National Guard, attended the meeting and gave a presentation on the history of the Indiana National Guard, the current role of the Guard in Indiana and the War on Terror, and the Indiana War Memorial. Ray E. Boomhower, of the Indiana Historical Society, presented a short program on Hoosier author Kurt Vonnegut and the 40th anniversary of his best-selling novel Slaughterhouse-Five, based on Vonnegut's experiences as a U.S. Army soldier held as a Prisoner of War during the fire-bombing of Dresden in 1945. |
